LUTON- easyJet (U2) is placing its little-known Flight Club loyalty program on hold, surprising many frequent flyers. The decision affects members flying through its primary base at London Luton Airport (LTN) and other key routes across Europe.

While Flight Club has operated quietly with invitation-only access, easyJet has now confirmed a full pause of the program as it prepares for a broader revamp of its loyalty strategy, the Head for Points flagged.

Flight Club, easyJet’s discreet frequent flyer program, has long flown under the radar. Despite being discussed on the airline’s website, the scheme was never prominently promoted and remained an invite-only benefit targeting the airline’s most frequent customers.

Eligibility for the program included three possible thresholds:

  • 20+ flights flown in 12 months, or
  • 10+ flights and £1,500+ spent, or
  • 10-year history of 10+ annual flights with at least one flight per year.

Recently, members reported being removed from the program without a clear explanation. The airline issued a generic message citing “membership review,” causing confusion and dissatisfaction, especially among loyal customers who still met the eligibility criteria.

Unlike premium loyalty programs from legacy carriers, Flight Club focused on operational flexibility rather than perks like upgrades or lounge access. Key benefits included:

  • Unlimited fee-free booking changes, though fare differences still applied.

A more respectful explanation and transition plan might have preserved goodwill, especially as easyJet looks to win trust with a new loyalty platform.
