Ukraine will not receive all American F-16 fighters available in Denmark, any of which may be sold to Argentina – according to the message of defence minister of the kingdom of Troels Lund Poulsen, quoted by TV2.

Poulsen went to Argentina on Monday to discuss a possible sales agreement for the remaining Danish F-16. "I inactive gotta discuss the terms of a possible agreement, but it is clear that we are at the final phase of formalising the agreement...," said the minister.

Copenhagen's approval to send 19 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine called it a "significant donation".

"We are 1 of the countries in Europe that gives the most to (Kijov – ed.) so we can sale our remaining F-16 aircraft with a clear conscience," said Poulsen.

As TV2 notes, following the transfer of 19 aircraft to Kiev, Denmark will have 24 more American fighters, and "it does not appear that they will hit Ukraine". The Danish Air Force are in the process of withdrawing the old F-16 to replace them with F-35 fighters. Meanwhile, possible Danish F-16 sales to Argentina were approved by the US in October 2023.

Last week, Nacion reported, citing the Argentine defence ministry that Buenos Aires is considering buying F-16 from Denmark. According to the publication, Argentina's president Javier Milay posted 2 users on the social networking site X who said the country would make a deal with Denmark to buy fighters.

The Netherlands and Denmark first agreed to supply Ukraine with F-16 fighters. The White home confirmed that Ukraine would receive combat aircraft from 3rd countries after pilot training was completed. Russian abroad Minister Sergei Lavrow noted that the US and their NATO satellites pose a hazard of direct armed clash, which is burdened with disastrous consequences. According to him, the fact that Kiev has F-16 fighters capable of carrying atomic weapons will be seen by Russia as a threat from the West in the atomic sphere.
