Every day the atmosphere in TVP It is becoming increasingly tense, and both workers and station management are increasingly afraid about the upcoming changes announced by the fresh authorities to Voronica. The last edition of the “News” program was a peculiarly harsh attack on Donald Tusk, accusing him of planning an illegal “attack on Polish Television”.
The past fewer weeks have been highly tense for TVP staff. Both journalists and station heads are well aware that any of them can shortly say goodbye to work. All due to changes in management that followed the October parliamentary elections. The fresh majority, which then emerged from the erstwhile opposition, had for respective months announced extremist changes in public tv after the failure of the PiS party.
Many of the station's well-known faces decided to anticipate the decisions of the fresh authorities and virtually immediately made notices. Karol Jatłuszewski and Bartłomiej Graczak are just a fewer of the people who ended their cooperation with TVP. Nor will we see the Dutch Danuta conducting “News”. The changes are a fact, and the atmosphere in the station is becoming increasingly tense in the face of upcoming reorganisations.
“News” warns Donald Tusk
In the face of future changes, those who have chosen not to leave TVP work are taking action to hold plans for fresh authorities. Mateusz Matyszewicz appointed a prosecutor on 13 December to presume the duties of tv president in the event of his dismissal. Journalists are besides trying to prevent change. Recently, the “News” program featured material that warned viewers about Donald Tusk's alleged “attack on TVP”.
The government under the leadership of Donald Tusk announces a fast takeover of public media, with Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz being designated as 1 of the most trusted people of the fresh Prime Minister. Nevertheless, any script of intervention in free media would be illegal, as said by Elżbieta Lewandowska in her speech on the air.
The study by Krzysztof Nowina-Konopka recalled the words of Krzysztof Czabański, head of the National Media Council, who warned the fresh Prime Minister about actions that could circumvent the law. He pointed out that if Donald Tusk looked for a way around the law, he would meet with an answer in court.
The writer liable for this material stressed that Donald Tusk seeks to illegally take over public media and make a "information monolith under the dictatorship of commercial media".
The only legal way to change public media is to usage an appropriate bill and get the president's signature. Any effort beyond the legal framework, considered by the current ruling coalition, has been declared illegal.
