Finance Minister Andrzej Domański denied reports of a "gross increase" of the minimum wage, announcing an increase in wage to at least PLN 4806 gross. In the background there is simply a dispute between the resorts about the final form of the raise.
"Responsible proposal" – Domański on minimum wage increase
Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance, in conversation with Polsat News confirmed that work is underway on a minimum wage increase which will not be lower than forecast inflation (approximately 3%). This means that the lowest remuneration will increase to approximately PLN 4806 gross.
– We want the real value of the minimum wage to continue, but we know that it grew powerfully in erstwhile years, now it seems so balanced, responsible – explained Domański.
The head of the MF besides referred to reports of a proposal to rise to just PLN 4670.70, calling them false.
Government dispute: PLN 5020 vs. PLN 4806
In the discussion about next year's minimum wage, there are different positions:
- Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy (Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk) PLN 5020 gross, which would mean an increase by 390 zł.
- Central trade unions (OPZZ, NSZZ "Solidarity", FZZ) request PLN 5015 gross.
- Ministry of Finance opts for PLN 4806, arguing that besides advanced a rise may incriminate entrepreneurs.
– We will, of course, discuss this (...). We must remember, on the 1 hand, the minimum wage-payers, on the other, besides the companies that frequently have problems with the increasing minimum wage – emphasized Domański.
Decision deadline and relevance of the amendments
The government has time to 15 Juneto submit a final proposal Council for Social Dialogue. Currently, the minimum wage is PLN 4666 grossand fresh rates will apply from January 1, 2026. This decision concerns over 3 million Poles.
Domański assured that cooperation between ministries is good, and we have already managed to work together projects specified as Active Parent, widow’s pension or benefits to social workers.
Summary: What awaits employees in 2026?
- Minimum growth – to PLN 4806 gross (according to inflation).
- Offers of compounds and MPPiPS – PLN 5015-5020 gross.
- Final decision It'll fall by mid-June.
