The OLX platform, 1 of the most popular parties in Poland to buy and sell, announced crucial changes in the rules that will enter into force on 20 August 2024. These changes aim to improve user comfort and to adapt to fresh European Union legislation. Here's what's worth knowing about the upcoming news on OLX.
New transportation Option – Courier transportation Under Door
One of the biggest news that many users have been waiting for is the anticipation to choose a courier transportation home. So far, utilizing the OLX transportation option, you could only order packages to InPost Packages, Orlen Packs and Polish Post. For many people it was uncomfortable, especially if they preferred transportation straight under the door.
As of 20 August, OLX will introduce the anticipation of utilizing courier shipments, which will greatly facilitate the reception of ordered goods. As part of this change, payments and transaction formalities will proceed to be carried out by the platform, which will guarantee the safety of purchases. Unlike direct transactions, where payments are made straight between the buyer and the seller, courier shipments will be subject to additional OLX protection.
Amendments to EU Regulations - DAC Directive 7
As of 1 July 2024, the DAC Directive 7 applies throughout the European Union. Its aim is to fight the grey region of online trade, especially in the context of sales platforms specified as OLX, Allegro or Vinted. The Directive requires platforms to verify the individual data of users and, in certain cases, to communicate this information to the taxation Office.
What are the fresh responsibilities?
- Verification of Users: Platforms now request to verify the individual data of account recorders, even if they are private handicraft vendors, utilized equipment or services specified as renovations or tutoring.
- Reporting Transactions: The Fiscus will be informed of transactions if the seller conducts at least 30 transactions in a given calendar year or if their full value exceeds EUR 2000. This applies to both private transactions and service providers.
- Transaction limits: The information will be sent to the taxation Offices regardless of whether the conditions are met together. For example, 30 transactions of little than EUR 2000 or respective transactions of a full value exceeding EUR 2000 will be reported.
