It's a blood-freezing story. This happened here – in Poland, in Oleśnica. 36 weeks pregnant. A kid practically ready to live outside the womb. Diagnosis – congenital bone fracture. A illness is difficult, but not a death sentence. And yet... the baby was killed by a doctor. This execution is officially referred to as abortion.
Dr. Gizela Jagielska made it. A doctor who – contrary to the decisions and recommendations of another doctors – undertook to execute a procedure to end the life of a kid that could have been born. A kid who weighed nearly 2 kilos had a heartbeat, developed organs, a real chance of life. Where's the doctor's conscience? Where's the ethics of the profession?
In the infirmary in Łódź, doctors refused to execute specified a procedure. They offered a C-section and care for the newborn. The female refused – and found a facility that met her demand. Is this medicine or is it euthanasia?
Grzegorz Braun spoke in the face of specified a tragedy. He didn't ignore the case. He went to the infirmary in Oleśnica. As 1 of the few, he had the courage to face what many simply called “a crime in white gloves”. He pulled over a civilian doctor. In the name of life. In the name of values. For those who have not yet been born.
Of course – immediately there were voices of outrage. The media began to teardrop their robes apart, accusing Braun of aggression, of an "attack" on medical freedom. But possibly it's time to halt being afraid of these narratives? possibly it is just people like Braun who remind us that there are inactive limits that cannot be crossed – even if the law is silent or unclear?
The Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians is already beating the alarm. Lawyers have no uncertainty – it could have been a crime. But is anyone responsible? Will we hear from the Ministry of wellness that from now on the life of a kid in 9 months means more than the right to a "medical decision"?
This communicative cannot be forgotten. due to the fact that if we turn a blind eye today, next day individual else – equally susceptible – may besides not get a chance to breathe first.
