The chapel, which stood at the central point of the village of Mokre for over 100 years, was destroyed during works related to the reconstruction of the territory road 4305W. Despite erstwhile suggestions about moving the chapel to a safer place, the decision to destruct it raised widespread discontent with the local community. According to the portal o2.pl, residents do not hide the outrage.

Mayor Radzymina, Krzysztof Chaciński, who himself repeatedly called for the transfer of the chapel, wrote in his entry: “The chapel was ruined in a thoughtless and brutal way during the reconstruction of the region road, even though there were appropriate ways to let it to be moved, secured and repositioned in a safer place after the completion of the road work, which I repeatedly sought at the plan stage. specified a message provoked a wave of criticism towards investment contractors and the region authorities.

In consequence to the controversy surrounding the removal of the chapel, the portal o2.pl obtained the position of Vice-Statist of Volominski, Katarzyna Pazio, who explained that "we took with large sadness information about the demolition of the chapel". She besides highlighted how crucial this place was for the local community, which makes matters even more painful for its inhabitants. The vice-starosta explains that "the plan to build the territory road 4305W assumed the transfer of the chapel utilizing light equipment due to the fact that it was in collision with road infrastructure". The pre-planned actions aimed to defend this valuable monument. Unfortunately, during the implementation of the investment there were unforeseen circumstances which led to the demolition of the chapel.

According to the information provided by the general contractor, STRABAG sp. z o.o., during the unveiling of the foundation in order to prepare the chapel for the transfer, the advanced part of it was lowered. Unfortunately, the consequence was a complete fall of the object. The full structure was unstable.” This explains why the full building did not withstand this process, which resulted in its eventual destruction.

In consequence to the situation, Mayor Radzymina, Krzysztof Chaciński, who had previously called for the safety of the chapel, called to the board the authorities of the Volominski County, including the politician of Arkadiusz Werelich.
