The end of the year 2024 is coming in large steps. For many Poles December is simply a time of intensive preparation, especially to New Year's Eve. Therefore, many people wonder if December 29, 2024 – last Sunday before fresh Year – will be a trading day. The answer is clear: Unfortunately, this is not a trade Sunday.
Trade ban on Sunday 29 December 2024 – what does it look like in practice?
According to current regulations in Poland, most Sundays a year apply prohibition of trade, introduced by the Act of 2018. In 2024 only planned 7 Business Sundays, mainly before or at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, 29 December He wasn't on that list.
The business days of December 2024 are:
- 15 December 2024 – Sunday trade before Christmas,

- Gas stations – in most cases they are open 24/7, and their assortment frequently includes food products and basic articles needed daily.
- Bakery, pastry and ice cream – according to the regulations, these points may besides operate on non-commercial Sundays.
- Pharmacy and medical facilities – they are not prohibited from trading.
- Shops at railway stations and airports – there is no prohibition, which allows buying during the trip.
If you are planning bigger shopping, for example New Year's Eve party, it is worth reasoning about them earlier, e.g. on Friday 27 December or Saturday 28 December, erstwhile all larger shops and buying malls are inactive open.
Shopping in Lidl, Ladybug and buying malls
Unfortunately, on Sunday December 29, 2024, all major trade networks specified as Lidl, Ladybug, Carrefour is Auchan, will stay closed. The same applies to large buying malls, which are besides subject to a trade ban.

The ban on trade in Poland is not absolute. There are besides exceptions that let the beginning of selected buying malls on Sundays subject to prohibition. In addition to the above mentioned shops, exceptions include:
- Refreshments – restaurants, cafes and bars work normally.
- Online shops – online buying is available 24/7.
So if you forget about an crucial purchase, you can usage the option of ordering home transportation products. More and more commercial networks specified as Carrefour or Auchan offer specified services.
What about fresh Year's trade?
