Government of Cech Accepted On 16 December this year, resolutions rejecting the ETS2 emissions trading strategy and the EU migration pact. According to the head of government, Anriej Babish, EU decisions on these regulations will not be implemented into Czech law. The country is not afraid of Brussels sanctions.

The Czech Republic rejected ETS2 and the Migration Pact. This happened after a heated debate and a vote in the Prague Parliament. Prime Minister Babisz recommended his ministers of the environment and manufacture and trade, seeking EU support for the abolition of the ETS2. The government has asked all Czech MEPs to get allies on this. 1 of them is the opposition euoro MP Danusze Nerudova, who became rapporteur for the second phase of the emissions trading strategy in the European Parliament.

The erstwhile government of Petra Fiala Czech Republic belonged to a group of 19 states that request changes in the ETS 2 system. Babisz pointed out at the press conference after the cabinet gathering that he did not anticipate this initiative to lead to a simplification in the price of allowances. It will be the other – prices will increase almost everything that in turn drives inflation.

ETS2 is simply a fresh Euro-communist emissions trading strategy to cover road transport and buildings. The EU originally planned to become effective in 2027. However, its implementation was delayed by a year.

The Czech Government besides rejected the EU's alleged Migration Pact in the resolution adopted at its gathering on Tuesday. The CTK Agency, which has a full evidence of the resolution, wrote that the government wants to reject migration quotas and introduce a zero tolerance policy for illegal migration to the Czech Republic and the EU as a whole. To this end, it aims to strengthen migration rules.

The head of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lubomir Metnar, was given the task of the government to present a draft fresh legal framework in the fight against migration, and, together with the head of diplomacy, to reject Czech participation in the EU relocation programme.
