We didn't even notice, and the next generation on Christmas Eve watches Kevin's adventures completely by accident left alone at home.
TSo before our eyes she was born new Polish tradition, most likely the only 1 in the world.
Let's take a closer look at the movie. due to the fact that as shortly as we scope into the script with amazement, we discover that this conventional Christmas movie ties together... Piłsudski, Petlura, composer Mykola Leontovich And also... Ukrainian People's Republic, I and II Republic and... USA and theirs 45 and 47 President.
But let us skip the plot, although the name of 1 of the characters is clearly Polish (Gus Polinsky – Polish master playing clarinet). We're talking about actual relationships, not script fiction.
Among a number composed specifically for production needs by John Williams There are respective Christmas songs.
Among them a carol most likely at the minute more recognized in the planet than “Silent Night” – “Carol of the ballsIt’s okay. ”
Here's what it sounds like in the most dignified performance:

This song was composed 120 years ago (1904) by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovicha (Leontowicz's Mykola – according to the evidence that was in force in the times of PRL). The composition was based on an old Ukrainian folk song “Szczedrik” (in Polish – “Szczodry, Wyszały”).
We already know the melody. It's time for the lyrics.
Щедрик щедрик, щедрiвочка,
прилeтiла,
прилeтiла.
Polish:
Hunch, Hunch, Hunch
Here comes the swallow.
She started chirping.
The host cried:
“Come out, come out, host,
Look at the sheephouse,
There the sheep walk,
And lambs are born.
You got good stuff,
You'll have quite a few money,
You got good stuff,
You'll have quite a few money,
And if not money, it's chaff:
you have a black woman’s wife.”
Cough, cluck, cluck.
Here comes the swallow.
The song shows natural railroad in nature. The fresh year does not start at the very beginning of astronomical winter, but in spring.
In the play Vivaldia expressed it – his “Four Seasonsu’ they start with Spring (La Primavera) to end Winter (L`interno). The year begins in spring, erstwhile everything wakes up to life and ends in winter, erstwhile nature is sleeping.
The first text was created in those days erstwhile people's connection to nature was stronger than the calendar's indications. And this can decision the uprising of Szczerka to times erstwhile the Ukrainian steppes were ruled by the Republic of Poland.
And erstwhile the year began in spring...
Here's another performance.

KThe carol omposer is simply a character powerfully written into the national stream (not to be confused with the bander!!!) of our east neighbours.
“Nikolay Dmytrowycz Leontovich (ukr. Микола Дмитрович Леонтович) was born on December 13, 1877 in the village of Monastyrok on Podolu, died on January 23, 1921 in the village of Markówka, close Teplika, Ukraine.
He was the boy of an Orthodox pop, studied at the Theological Seminary in Kamieniec Podolski from 1892 to 1898. From 1903 to 1904 he besides attended music lessons at the Tsarian choral band in St. Petersburg, where he passed the choral conductor exam.
From 1898 he taught music, founded and led choirs and instrumental ensembles in the towns of Podola, Kiev and Katerynsławski circuits. In 1901 he released the first collection of Ukrainian songs. Since 1909 he has taken private lessons in harmony and explanation of music with S. Barmotin and composition with B. Jaworski in Kiev and Moscow.
Since 1919, after the uprising of the Ukrainian People's Republic, he worked in Kiev. He taught at the Music and Dramatic School of Lysenka, was 1 of the organizers of the Ukrainian State Choir and State Symphony Orchestra.
He died tragically, shot by an agent Waiting at the home of his parents in Markivka close Tulczyn, as 1 of the most dangerous to Bolsheviks carriers of Ukrainian rebirth.
Leontowycz is the author of more than 150 folk songs, which can be described as first choral compositions based on folk tunes. The most popular of his works are the works of folk songs – “Szczedrik” (Щедрик), “Dudaryk” (Дударик), “Zyszumiła lyszczynońka” (Зашуміла ліщинонька), first works – “Ice” (Льодолом), “Lithuanian tons” (Літні тони). Leontovich is the author of the Liturgy of Jan Złotousty (Chrysostoma), as well as the unfinished opera “For Easter the Rosals” (На русалчин).
We find so much about him in Ukrainian sources.
But did he compose only Ukrainian songs, showing the distinctness of the culture there? Or was he simply recording songs from the times of the Republic?
Multicultural and tolerant towards its citizens like no another European country at the time?
German ethnographer Oskar Kolberg before he understood that he had discovered and preserved a separate folklore of the Polish people he intended to find traces of German culture radiating to the east.
We, on the another hand, should look for common cultural elements for all nations surviving in the erstwhile Republic. Almost quite a few Ukrainian or Belarusian words sound... from Polish, not Russian. In fact, we were yet divided by religion and... the alphabet. But this is simply a different story. Let's go back to our carol then.
Dabout the planet culture ellipse the song was introduced mostly thanks to the well-known Ataman Symon Petlura.
This is due to the fact that they were created at his initiative Ukrainian National Choir In the early 1920s, while promoting Ukrainian culture, separate from Russian culture, he travelled around Europe and America.
On October 5, 1921, the song premiered in Carnegie Hall.
And since the Second Republic has put rather quite a few money into maintaining the emigration government of the Ukrainian People's Republic, we besides have any contribution to spreading the song.
There was only 1 thing missing to absorb from planet culture – a text written in a commonly understood language. ;)
The English text by any sources was written in 1936 by an American composer and educator Peter J. Wilhousky. Turns out his real name was Petro Wilchowskia And... he was Ukrainian.
