I studied at the Warsaw music college under the direction of the winner from 1932 - Prof. Natalia Hornowska. In the 1950s, she was the organizer of the Beijing conservatory, where she saw a immense amount of very hardworking and super capable youth. There were 50 Polish Calisia pianos in the university, on which the strategy was practiced 24/7, all the time - regardless of the time of day or night. Prof. Hornowska gave her Warsaw students a gloomy vision, saying that it is the "final times" for us - shortly only Chinese will be touring around the world.
Fortunately, for European pianists, the “yellow danger” was averted – the future “cultural revolution”, the “burly art” was banned and Chinese musicians went to the country to grow mills. Times have changed and present 50 million young people are learning to play in China, and prof. Hornowska's 1960s prophecy is being fulfilled in front of our eyes. That kind of reflection comes after the first day of questioning. You could hear the performance, it was delightful, perfect, thrilling. Sometimes listening to another Chinese man was certain that a brick candidate for the first prize was playing. I felt sorry for the next 1 who had to go on the phase after specified a favorite. However, the next Chinese turned out to be doing no worse. In a minute you could see that the next 1 was most likely even better. After that, another Chinese came out on the stage, which surpasses both previous...And it doesn't substance that any Chinese turned out to be nipponese or Americans of Chinese origin – you can see that the planet is yellow. Let us be glad that for now - as Prof. Gross said "Poland is brown", although this is not a comfort for Polish pianists.
