Ryan Routh heard a life conviction for trying to shoot Donald Trump, then a presidential candidate. The perpetrator of the attempted assassination of a politician committed himself at a golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump was then resident.

The U.S. territory Court ruled on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, which occurred during the erstwhile U.S. election campaign. The man was sentenced to life imprisonment and 7 years in prison (double punishment – according to American regulations – ed.). The conviction indicated that he was found guilty of attempted assassination of the chief presidential candidate, as well as guilty of assaulting a national officer.

Ryan Routh was besides convicted by a territory court for multiple firearms-related crimes. During his speech in court, the man assured that he was a good man, worked in Ukraine, where he tried to recruit people for the army.

However, territory justice Aileen Cannon yet interrupted the suspect and announced the sentence, saying he was a bad man who intended to kill Donald Trump. The justice added that a man would have done it had it not been for a Secret Service agent who thwarted the plan to kill the leader.

The convicted man claimed to be innocent to the very end. He objected to the DA's position that he was trying to kill anyone.

"It would be an easy kill. The killing would have happened if it had not been for Agent Fercano," said Deputy national lawyer John Shipley. "It was expected to be a cold-blooded killing, hidden, so that Americans would not even have a chance to vote for it," he added.
