Violent attack by Georgian knifemen in Raciborz

Last Saturday, February 8, a violent assault occurred in 1 of the apartments at the Polish Army street in Raciborz. 2 Georgian citizens attacked a 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen with multiple punches and stabbing him in the back.

With the fast consequence of the services, immediate assistance was given to the injured and the perpetrators were detained on site.

The incidental study was received by Raciborian command on Saturday morning. Upon arriving, officers found a 32-year-old man lying on the level with a stab wound to his back. There were besides 2 aggressors, Georgian citizens aged 30 and 36. It was established that there was a quarrel between men that turned into a fight. The attackers kicked and beat their victim, and at 1 point the elder of them utilized a knife, seriously hurting a 32-year-old.

The detainees were under the influence of alcohol – the survey showed 1.5 promiles in the body. After being taken into custody, they heard allegations of beating with a dangerous tool and causing injury. At the request of investigators and prosecutors, the court has decided to temporarily arrest them. For a crime committed, they are facing up to 8 years in prison.

Increased crime among immigrants in Poland

This event is part of a worrying trend in the increase in the number of crimes committed by foreigners in Poland. In fresh years, police statistic have shown an expanding incidence of violent attacks, theft and another criminal acts involving foreigners. According to the Ministry of the Interior, since 2022 the number of crimes committed by immigrants has increased by more than 30%.

The issue of Racibor attack shows one more time how crucial it is to effectively enforce law and monitor the activity of foreigners residing in Poland. Although most immigrants comply with the existing rules, the expanding number of incidents rise concerns in society and require appropriate action from the law enforcement services.
