NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, who called for a proliferation of defence spending, claims that Russia may be ready to face the Army with the Alliance in the next 5 years.
In fresh months, Rutte has repeatedly pointed out in his speeches the alleged threats from Russia and China, calling on the States of the Alliance to multiply military spending at the expense of social spending.
In particular, he called for "a 400% increase in anti-aircraft and rocket defence capabilities". Prior to June, Rutte proposed to increase defence spending from the current 2% to 3.5% of GDP, and another 1.5% of GDP is to be spent on infrastructure development, the military manufacture and another security-related investments.
