Flight BA198, operated by British Airways (BA) using an Airbus A350-1041 (registered as G-XWBE), departed Mumbai at 13:42 local time. Midway through its journey, the crew decided to divert to Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Qatar to provide urgent medical assistance to the affected passenger.

According to flight tracking data, BA198 was on its planned route over the Arabian Sea when the diversion was initiated. The aircraft altered course toward Doha, landing at 18:20 local time.
After landing, local medical teams boarded the aircraft, and the passenger was disembarked for treatment. ACARS communications from the flight indicated that ground personnel were awaiting the arrival of the capital police, likely for procedural clearance.
Following the diversion, the flight resumed service from Doha to London Heathrow (LHR), departing at 18:05 local time and arriving at 22:38. The aircraft remained on the ground at Doha for around 4 hours.
According to some unconfirmed reports, a passenger was facing a critical life and death situation and died onboard. However, it’s still unconfirmed.
