Justice Minister Adam Bodnar announced a breakthrough decision on the extradition of Sebastian M., suspected of causing a fatal accident on the A1 motorway. Following the long efforts of the Polish authorities, the United arabian Emirates agreed to release the man.
The UAE decision concludes the extradition procedure
Minister of Justice and lawyer General Adam Bodnar confirmed that the authorities of the United arabian Emirates agreed to the extradition of Sebastian M. to Poland. This decision ends the formal procedure, allowing a man to be brought into the country.
Previously, the UAE ultimate Court rejected Sebastian M.'s appeal against the Dubai Court of Appeal decision, which deemed extradition legally admissible.
Polish Police Begins Action
Adam Bodnar reported on Thursday on platform X:
"Currently, the Polish Police, in cooperation with the UAE services, are starting to bring the wanted to the country".
The Minister besides thanked the diplomats of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, Minister Radosław Sikorski and prosecutors of the National Prosecutor's Office for their engagement in the case.

Tragedy on the A1 motorway
Sebastian M. is suspected of causing an accident in which a three-man household – parents and their five-year-old boy – died. The event occurred in September 2023 on the A1 motorway close Piotrków Trybunalski (Łódź province). The expert showed that M. was driving the BMW at least at the velocity of 253 km/h.
After the tragedy, the man fled Poland and hid in the mediate East. At the request of then lawyer General Zbigniew Ziobry, an APB and Interpol red note were issued for him. He was detained in Dubai in October 2023 but later left jail on bail. Still, his passport was retained, and he himself received a alleged gold visa allowing him to stay at the UAE.
Now, after the extradition decision, Sebastian M. will face Polish justice.
