Euro MP Grzegorz Braun, who won over a million votes in the first circular of the presidential election, publically stated that he had received a controversial proposal from people around Karol Nawrocki. According to politics, it would be a promise of pardon in exchange for support. The case caused a storm in the media, and Nawrocki's staff powerfully denies these reports.
Braun reveals: “They promise to pardon me”
Grzegorz Braun in an interview with the portal “time“ he admitted that unknown persons associated with Karol Nawrocki’s facilities were to offer him a “give life” through a future pardon.
– I can tell it here due to the fact that it's not a secret, due to the fact that the news through respective different channels was released by the deliberate. Namely any more vague centres of power or opinion, from the back of Karol Nawrocki, promise to spare my life. Namely, they promise to pardon me. – Braun said.
The politician stressed that he had not yet been charged, making the full situation even more worrying. – So, does Karol Nawrocki's background advise him to pardon me in a blank, in a blank? – ironic the leader of the Confederation of the Polish Crown.
Nawrocki's staff responds: "It's a perfidious provocation"
Paweł Kiebernaker, chief of staff of Karol Nawrocki, immediately referred to these reports on platform X (formerly Twitter).
“Someone has misled someone. no of the staff and surroundings of Karol Nawrocki promised anyone any pardon. This is perfidious provocation” – he wrote.
Prosecutor's Office Against Braun
The case is all the more hot due to the fact that Grzegorz Braun has many criminal proceedings in his account. The territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw obtained approval to prosecute policy in 7 cases. As Minister Adam Bodnar recalled, these include:
- violations of physical immunity and insulting of a doctor – manager of the National Centre of Cardiology,
- three acts of a Chuligan character,
- public insult of the subject of spiritual worship and violation of bodily immunity in the Sejm.
Is this a political game?
Braun's message has sparked speculation as to whether we are dealing with an effort to exert force on political opponents or a real effort to negociate behind the scenes. The deficiency of circumstantial names and evidence makes the case unclear.
Summary:
The dispute between Braun and Nawrocki's staff shows how hot the atmosphere is in Polish politics. Were these truly attempts at negotiation or just provocation? For now, both sides stay in their positions and the public is waiting for further developments.
