Poland is considering introducing border checks with Germany in consequence to random checks carried out by Berlin. Minister Tomasz Siemoniak besides announces the invitation of the German counterpart to the Polish-Belarusian border.
During the ceremony of the 40th anniversary of the Schengen area in Luxembourg, the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, Tomasz Siemoniak, expressed his concern about Germany's actions which, in his opinion, violate the rule of free movement of persons in the EU.
— We have been dealing with random checks on the Polish-German border for a year and a half. This hits the full movement on this border, causes traffic jams and makes life hard for Polish and German citizens “Semoniak stressed.
Poland ready for retaliatory checks

Siemoniak besides called for a greater commitment to the protection of the EU's external borders, pointing to Poland's efforts to safe the border with Belarus.
German officers at the limit of endurance
Meanwhile, the German police are beating the alarm. According to a survey conducted among 2,000 officers:
- 70% considers the checks to be impossible to maintain,
- 77% opposes the restrictions on leave,
- 42% He's at maximum speed.
Andreas Rosskopf, Head of the German Police Union, in an interview with Rheinische Post stated that the strength limit had been ‘not only achieved but besides long exceeded’. It demands greater support from the government, including additional staff and better equipment.
Will Berlin change politics?
Alexander Dobrindt, German Minister of the Interior, introduced enhanced controls in early May, explaining this by fighting illegal migration. However, the force from Poland and the problems of its own services can force Germany to revise these actions.
