On Wednesday 11. 6.2025, the Sejm expressed a vote of assurance for Donald Tusk's government by a majority of 243 votes “for” against 210 “against”. Although this decision confirms the stableness of the executive authority, it does not mean unanimity in its own camp. In comments on the speech of the head of government, she spared no harsh criticism from the MP of the 3rd Way – Poland 2050, Alexander Leo.
Tusk: There is no earthquake, but we have a hard occupation ahead of us
During his speech preceding the vote on the vote of confidence, Donald Tusk stated that "there is no earthquake", but the political situation requires a serious approach from the government. The Prime Minister stressed that the conditions under which the coalition will operate on October 15 will not improve – the fresh president of Poland, who will take office in August, will be as reluctant to change as his predecessor, proposed by the current Government Coalition.
– I ask the advanced home to give a vote of assurance to our government for rather apparent reasons. The political calendar showed with all clarity the challenges facing the ruling coalition," said the Prime Minister.
Tusk besides referred to the results of the presidential election and stressed that they were a evidence to the request for further work and to the implementation of programme demands which had the support of voters.
Leo: I heard better speeches
Commenting on Donald Tusk, Alexander Leo immediately pointed out that she felt that the Prime Minister's speech was little inspiring than expected:
– I heard better speeches than Donald Tusk's exposé," she said in an interview with RMF FM.
The 3rd Way MP stressed that although the parliamentary majority is simply a fact, more importantly, "new beginning – this program reset"to aid break the deadlock and focus on concrete solutions.
– I definitely lacked these ideas, this program – she explained.
According to Leos, the government chief's speech contained besides many attacks on opposition (PiS) and besides fewer proposals for society. We're truly not just anti-PiS. That's not the point, she said.
Yellow Paper for Government
Alexander Leo besides referred to the defeat of Rafał Trzaskowski in the second circular of the presidential election. He thinks the election consequence is simply a yellow card for the government. As she explained, many programme proposals have not yet been met, inter alia due to coalition disputes or budgetary constraints after years of Law and Justice.
“The Prime Minister listed 3 out of 5 – this is simply a delight,” she admitted, referring to the demands made by Poland 2050.
The interview with the associate clearly shows that despite the formal majority in the Sejm, there is simply a request for a deeper programme reset, greater coherence and faster action for citizens within the coalition on 15 October.

Voting on a vote of assurance is just 1 of the stages of political competitions. However, what happens on this side of the barricade becomes crucial – both against the opposition and within the government coalition itself.
According to any liberal and centred environments, the government needs not only stableness but besides stability. specific programming stepswhich will be visible to society. Without this, even the top mathematical force can prove insufficient in the face of expanding social uncertainty and electoral pressure.
