How does cheating work?
Cheaters call the victims, claiming to be employees of the Bank warrant Fund. They claim that there has been an attempted burglary or hazard of money failure in the bank account. They then convince the interviewer that the funds should be “secure” immediately, giving login data, PIN codes or SMS-authorizing transfers.
The method is based on panic and fast response, which makes many people incapable to verify information and manipulate.
The Bank warrant Fund issued an authoritative warning
In consequence to an expanding number of specified cases, the Banking warrant Fund published a communication:
‘The Fund informs that its employees never call depositors about obtaining information about their bank accounts, do not ask for access passwords to specified accounts, PIN/SMS codes or another data enabling them to get information about the depositor’s data or to dispose of his funds, nor do they urge the transfer or withdrawal of cash from the depositor’s account.
The institution recommends that in the event of a suspicious conversation contact your own bank immediately for verification. You can do it by calling free BFG hotline: 800 569 341 (Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
How do you defend yourself from fraud?
- Never serve Passwords, PIN codes or telephone authentication texts.
- Check Numbers“Employees” call – financial institutions seldom communicate in this way.
- Verify Information – if individual claims to be a typical of BFG or a bank, call the authoritative helpline of their institution.
- Do Not Act Under Time Pressure – cheaters frequently urge immediate action to prevent thinking.
