The Catholic Women's Movement of Austria (kfbö) advocates the introduction of a female Deacon in the Catholic Church. The organization issued its request on Friday, stating that it had submitted it to the Vatican Synodal Office.
In this way, he wants to lead to a shift of discussion on beginning the deaconate to a fresh level for women, and yet gain the alleged equality in the Church.
According to Kfbö, the Church should yet recognise that the current practice excluding women from the Deacon is discriminatory and undermines the credibility of the Church. Catholicism should be a space free of patriarchal structures, the group added; there should be no place in the Church for a hierarchical order that differentiates between men and women.
The organization argues that in the Church many women are de facto deaconic, but without sacramental support or authoritative ecclesiastical approval. "Sanctification of women as deacons would be a visible sign that the Church takes equality seriously," said Kfbö's chief, Angelika Ritter-Green.
Discussing the deacon for women has been going on for respective years with advanced intensity. Although Pope Francis declared that he did not intend to introduce specified solutions, he allowed debate on the another hand. Moreover, in 2023 he besides suggested that the ruling of St. John Paul II in “Ordinatio sacerdotalis” on the inability of giving women priestly ordination does not should be infallible.
The Western planet has been in an unprecedented demographic crisis for decades. Children are not born and societies are dying out faster. The lion's share of work for this process is shared by an equal ideology that destroys conventional household roles.
Women are forcefully activated professionally, and the legality of divorce makes them unsure about the sustainability of their marriage, so they are more willing to engage in work. The Catholic Church has always emphasized sex complementarity, that is, their common complementation, which has a peculiar mention to household life.
In fresh years, however, an equal model is increasingly adopted, which can only be understood as an effort to adapt to the unordered and internally suicidal social trend in the West. There are neither historical nor doctrinal grounds for ordination of women, whether it is the priesthood of stricto or just the deacon.
