An unprecedented scandal occurred in the Argentine Diocese of Corrientes. A well-known sex activist, portraying himself as a woman, received the blessing of “marriage” at the temple. He tried to marry them with a biological woman, who ‘disturbances’ in turn with the male gender. The priest felt that there was nothing in the way of specified a relationship. However, the bishop late declared that the sacrament was not given due to obstacles – and the friar could receive canon punishment.
In an interview with the Cruxnow.com portal, the average of the Diocese of Corrientes stated that the scandalous “marriage” was not validly concluded. As the hierarch explained, the sacramental bond did not be independently of the rulings on the matter.
An outrage occurred on January 28. It was then that the well-known LGBT subculture activist Solange Ayala faced the altar with a man named Isaiah woman. The activist, who considered herself a woman, attempted to conclude the sacrament of matrimony at the Church of Our woman of Pompeii in Corrientes.
The full task was sponsored by Franciscan monk Fernando Luis Gomez. He was to tell candidates that there were no canonical obstacles to their sacramental union. The clergyman himself assured that he had met with the average in the matter, and in no way did he go against him.
What is more – himself claiming to be Ayala's female – admits that he is not a committed Catholic. However, he considered the Pseudo-Marriage to be a moving condition and an chance to take a step towards changing the practice of the Catholic Church.
For the first time, the diocese referred to the scandal in its February 8 announcement. It states that “the sacrament of matrimony requires certain essential conditions in the canon law and the surviving tradition of the Church to be fulfilled. The omission of these conditions not only destroys the deep meaning of the sacrament, but besides creates confusion in the community of the faithful."
As cruxnow.com stated, in an interview with the portal the bishop announced the possible issue of canonical penalties and the application of disciplinary measures to the clergyman who presided over the ceremony.
