‘These are not average ministerial regulations. Behind this lies a very clear program of destroying human dignity in us, in the generations that are born and grow.... This was done in communist times. I remember erstwhile religion was removed from schools. precisely according to the same pattern that's being done today. It is the same goal: the atheization of the Polish nation; (...) and thus the separation of it from God, the Holy Mother, (...) to cut us off as a Christian nation, from our roots” – said Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski in Kalwaria Zebrzyżowska.
On Sunday, the Krakow Metropolitan presided over the pontifical sum culminating in the weekly celebrations of the presumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. The Eucharist gathered over 70,000 believers.
Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski in a homily reminded that in 1950 Pope Pius XII declared as a dogma that Mary "after the end of the earthly life with the soul and body was taken to the glory of heaven." "It was only 5 years after the end of the most bloody and cruel in the past of planet War II. During it, humanity suffered a large deal of cruelty and violence; especially we Poles have carried a real hecatomb. During this time, there was an incredible desecration of the human body. Proclaiming the doctrine of the presumption of Our woman with the soul and body to heaven, (...) Pius XII wanted to show that the human body was holy from the minute of conception and not only until the minute of natural death. It must be buried with reverence, for it is the body of a creature created in God's image," he said.
The Krakow Metropolitan said that from the time of Enlightenment there was an anti-Christian movement that denied the fact about God, as well as man and his dignity. He showed that Christians present are subject to ridicule due to being clean. “It is ridiculed, humiliated. An anti-Christian, truly pagan kind of reasoning and conduct is promoted, which detracts – how frequently – the dignity of the human body," he pointed out.
He added that “there goes... the desire to limit the preaching of the Gospel.” "This is the way to realize the ideas of our country present to impose restrictions on the teaching of religion in schools: so that children and young people have little and little of God's cognition of their dignity and all the more easy succumb to modern ideologies that disturb natural order; the dignity of women and men. Since kindergarten... they want to corrupt children. These are not average ministerial regulations. Behind this lies a very clear program of destroying human dignity in us, in the generations that are born and grow.... This was done in communist times. I remember erstwhile religion was removed from schools. precisely according to the same pattern that's being done today. It is the same goal: the atheization of the Polish nation; (...) and thus the separation of it from God, the Holy Mother, (...) the cutting us off as a Christian nation, from our roots," he said.
Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski said that behind the atheization there is simply a “programme that hits the life of a man”. "It is frightening to see these fierce statements of any people in the Sejm demanding at all costs to kill unborn children. It's hard to imagine a bigger crime like killing a helpless, innocent kid in the womb. And in the name of the freedom of a woman. There is no more effective way of depraving the nation and depriving it of a good future, without contributing to the parent killing her own child," he said.
Sunday's pontifical sum was preceded by the morning mass in Our Lady's Sepulchre Church on the paths, which was celebrated in the intention of Calvary pilgrims, as well as the procession of the presumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The celebrations will culminate in the evening of the vespers and the procession with the figure of the Blessed Mother.
