CHICAGO- American Airlines (AA) is expanding its presence at O’Hare International Airport (ORD) with new flights and destinations in 2025.
The carrier is increasing daily departures by 22%, adding nonstop routes to international and domestic locations, and enhancing premium seating options.

American Airlines New Flights and Destinations
American Airlines (AA) is significantly increasing its service from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), adding new routes and increasing flight frequencies.
This move supports business and leisure travelers with more options and better connectivity.
According to Daily Herald, the airline will operate up to 480 flights per day from O’Hare, marking a 22% increase from 2024.
This expansion also includes a 25% rise in available seating capacity, improving travel accessibility and convenience for passengers.
New International and Domestic Destinations
American Airlines is introducing nonstop flights to several new locations in 2025:
- International Routes: New direct service to Naples, Italy, begins in summer. Additional flights will connect O’Hare to Madrid (MAD), Spain, and Halifax (YHZ), Canada.
- European Connectivity: Travelers will have access to ten daily flights to major European hubs, including three flights per day to London Heathrow (LHR).
- Domestic Expansion: Flights are being added to key U.S. destinations, including Bismarck (North Dakota), Boise (Idaho), Colorado Springs (Colorado), Spokane (Washington), and Hyannis (Massachusetts). These additions cater to travelers seeking outdoor and regional experiences.
Starting in June 2025, American Airlines will expand its premium seating capacity by 40% compared to 2024.
This upgrade aligns with the airline’s commitment to providing enhanced comfort and service for business and high-value travelers.
The additional premium seating will be available across a range of domestic and international flights, featuring upgraded amenities such as lie-flat seats on long-haul routes, increased legroom, priority boarding, and exclusive lounge access.
