RIYADH- On April 22, 2024, a Boeing 747 freighter, operated by Air Atlanta (CT) Europe Malta on behalf of Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV), aborted its takeoff run after mistakenly attaching to department from a taxi alternatively of the designed runway.

Saudi Arabia Investigations Incident
Following the incident, the flight to Nairobi was canned, and the aircraft underwent inspection and maintenance before resuming operations. An invasion has been launched to find the origin of the misap and prevent akin Octobers in the future.
The Aviation Investigation Bureau of Saudi Arabia is presently investing the incidental to identify any errors that may have submitted to the failed takeoff attempt. Investigators Aim to comprehend how the crew confused a short taxi for a flight runway at the airport.

Aircraft Details
The aircraft active in the occurrance was a 29-year-old Boeing 747-400 freighter bearing the registration 9H-AKF. first flying in December 1994, it was originally delivered to EVA Air (BR) in Taiwan as a passenger aircraft.
Subsecently, in August 2007, it underwent conversion into a freighter and was later acquired by Air Atlanta in March 2019. Following its transfer from Air Atlanta, the Icelandic parent company, to Air Atlanta Europe Malta in October 2022.
