Świdnicki police officers, directed to operations in the border area of Zgorzelec County, during their commute to the place of service received information from the on-call officer of the territory Police Command in Zgorzelec about the escape of 3 men from a passenger vehicle controlled by the Border Guard.

The officers immediately joined the search. After receiving information from border guards about the direction of escape, they began intensive action in the field.

The action rapidly yielded the expected result. In the village of Stary Węgielniec, the police spotted 3 men matching the description of the escapees who moved along the railway tracks. They immediately went after them in pursuit, which was joined by police officers from the Police Station in Pieńsk. The actions resulted in an effective detention of all 3 men.

As initially established, the detainees are Afghan citizens. Due to their exhaustion, the police first gave them water and then handed it to Border defender officers. The Border defender had previously detained their Ukrainian citizen and the 4th passenger. Further steps will be taken by the Border Guard.
