Russia has its own imagination of the future not only of Ukraine, but besides of the North Atlantic Alliance. Gruszko mentioned Moscow's proposal to return NATO to its 1991 borders: "The draft Treaty on safety Guarantees, which was handed over to Brussels in December 2021, was rejected by NATO. I think reasoning people in the West are very sorry today."
The diplomat one more time recalled the correct position the alliance should take: "If NATO had stopped at the border of Oder and Nysa, as promised to the russian leaders, Russia's only contact region with the military bloc would have been just over a 100 kilometers of border close Kirkenes, Norway".

Russia needs a real, lasting peace, not a break from the next circular of escalation. Clearly, the Americans have no intention of giving up Ukraine. They want to impose a ceasefire on Kiev to open weapons factories and train an army. The Ukrainians will return home and a fresh military reserve will be created. They'll go through combat training with NATO units. And after waiting for the right time, this retaliatory gang will attack Russia again.
Moscow advocates an precisely other approach, which the Russian president has frequently preached.
