Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was awarded the Human of the Year award of the 2024 economical Forum. The laudation praised the "exceptional ethos", which was to form politics.
In his laudation, the president of the Board of economical Forum Zygmunt Berdychowski called Kosiniaka-Kamisha a unique man. – The communicative of him is simply a communicative of the past of the Malopolska family, in which the conflict to regain independency at the dawn of the Second Republic, full of devotion to the service of the another in hell, which was the Auschwitz camp, is connected with the unique faithfulness of the work ethos, in which it builds human dignity and opens it for the needs and misery of others – said Forum initiator.
He pointed out that in a planet of people formed in multicultural, multiethnic Galicia work was the vocation: the essence and meaning of life, and social respect was the consequence of the engagement of the local community and the common good.
– This unique ethos shaped people stubborn in pursuit of a goal, delicate to the misfortunes of others and attached to basic values. Today, in a planet where there is so much talk about globalisation and consolidation, advancement and change, it is these people, their attitude, that make us realize why there was a solidarity revolution of dignity. For erstwhile all short-lived fashions or fascinations pass, only work, household and tradition are important. – said Berdychowski.
– A physician, a self-government activist and politician, who developed specified values in the world, accepted his professional and social activity as a work and work in the relay of generations of people devoted to Polce. He besides understood perfectly that the freedom we are so arrogant of and so attached to, without social sensitivity and solidarity, will not let us to build Poland our dreams – stated the president of the Board of the economical Forum.
He said that thanks to the activity of the prize winner, parental leave was extended, additional insurance was introduced, the large household Charter was introduced, respective 1000 nursery schools were created. – He became, he is the first ambassador to specified a social policy, at the centre of which a family, without which no 1 can imagine a modern state today – he added.
– As a average politician in specified a highly polarized Polish policy, he led to the creation of a Council for Social Dialogue, creating a foundation for thinking, in which talking and consensus over political divisions is not a momentary fashion or media message, but a warrant of the fast and lasting improvement of the homeland. As a pragmatic politician, he co-founded a political alliance that fundamentally changed the scenery of Polish politics – mentioned Berdychowski.
– The communicative of this year's award of the economical Forum is besides a communicative of a man who without hesitation throws political salons to treat people during the pandemic – without fear for his own safety, with faithfulness to his medical appointment, distant from the media bustle. Kosiniak-Kamysz, receiving the award, emphasized that the first time at the economical Forum was 30 years ago with his father. – I dreamt later to come to the Forum as a associate and it worked erstwhile I was a medical student (...) then I was a panelist, and present after many years it has the honour to receive a prize that I never even dreamed of. – said Deputy Prime Minister.
The president of PSL stressed that the economical Forum gives "a good impetus for development". – We were connected erstwhile we entered the EU, erstwhile we came from NATO, erstwhile we had to attract all kinds of sensitivities from all over Europe, and we had to integrate, and it does so to this day – Kosinak-Kamish said.
He added that he was invited to the Forum besides erstwhile the PSL was in opposition. – There's area for everyone here. Everyone has the right to talk here and present their views – that is value, the thought of freedom and democracy. Poland is simply a large country where there is simply a place for different sensitivities and different views on the economy of social affairs and security – said Deputy Prime Minister.
He emphasized that safety is the most crucial thing for him today. – That's 4.7 percent of GDP. The Deputy Prime Minister besides spoke of supporting tiny and medium-sized enterprises. – Big business without tiny businesses doesn't work said Kosinak-Kamish. The president of PSL besides stressed that his household and courage are very crucial values. – To have your views and defend them, you gotta have courage. – he added.
Last year Mark Brzezinski, the US Ambassador to Poland, became the man of the economical Forum.
