On Wednesday (8.05.2024) late in the evening in Wrocław the Monument of the Unbreakable Soldiers was officially unveiled. Thus, the 14-year efforts (!) about its formation and extended indefinitely assembly ended. Among another things, it is the effect of grassroots environments and fans of Śląsk Wrocław, who have initiated marches to commemorate the Cursed Soldiers for years. The first specified march in Poland was co-organised by the then leader of fans of Silesia Wrocław, late Roman Zieliński.
The monument of the Solid Soldiers in the form of illuminated figures placed behind a peculiar hardened glass, stood in a worthy place in Wrocław, on Hubs, right next to the Railway Station and Wroclaw Gallery. Exactly, in the square between the streets of Borowska, Directive and Copina.
The monument depicts 9 characters of soldiers sunk in glass illuminated solids. The placement of them on a square among trees is expected to emphasize the symbolism of conspiracy and guerrilla fighting. The authors and performers of the monument are Artists: Tomasz and Konrad Urbanowicz from the renowned Archiglass studio. During the ceremony, both brought the scenes of the monument's creation closer, and pointed to the assumptions that they made in the implementation of the project. The monument is intended to influence imagination, encourage reflection and draw the attention of the audience to the fact that the heroes of the underground of independency are condemned to forgetfulness and attempts to teardrop distant from reverence.
– It is simply a worthy commemoration of the Cursed Soldiers, especially here in Wrocław, where their worship, especially in the national and cheering environment, is very strong. Marches, murals, cheering frames and efforts of various activists in the mastery of a mastery of a mastery, after 14 years brought real results – says 1 of the visitors to the WKS fan event. I have spoken to respective people and the opinions are consistent: it is simply a dignified monument to the spirit of the Cursed Soldiers.
– I am the grandson of Adam Lazarowicz, nicknamed “Klamra”, 1 of the soldiers cursed who lost his life on 1 March 1951 on Rakowiecka in Warsaw. Seeing this monument, I surely feel a large emotion. My father Zbigniew Lazarowicz, nicknamed “Brother”, besides a soldier cursed, devoted this thought of cultivating the memory of soldiers cursed with his life. This monument is simply a very crucial thing for Wrocław. We will be able to advance civil, patriotic, love of the homeland and awareness of our past here. The first impression of this monument, its form and idea, is very positive – said Przemysław Lazarowicz.
Major Wanda Kialek, a liaison and orderly of the 5th Vilnius AK Brigade, participated in the authoritative unveiling of the monument, a associate in the operation “The Sharp Gate”, a post-war paramedic of Sergei Kosciałkowski Fakir and a Workuta prisoner, after being released from exile in 1956, moved to Wroclaw.
The ceremony was not attended by president Jacek Sutryk. As the host of the celebration mentioned his name, the Sutryk was whistled. Hundreds of Poles came for the monument, including fans of Silesia Wrocław, who arrived with banners dedicated to the Cursed Soldiers and organized a spectacular “race”.
Let's remember., that until present in the territory Court for Wrocław-Śródmieście from the accusation of president Wroc3aw Jacek Sutryk there is simply a trial which was conducted by co-organizer of the March of Cursed Soldiers, Jack Międlar. Importantly, in the Sutryk trial, he referred to the expert opinion of Paweł Nowak, among others. claiming that the slogan “National Armed Forces – NSZ” contains threats and calls for hatred, and the slogan “Hello to the large Poland” is the Nazi slogan. Therefore, the absence of Sutryk in the celebration should not surprise anyone.
